Hillary Acosta

Hillary graduated from the University of British Columbia in the year 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She began her career in the lower mainland at Surrey Memorial Hospital and G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Center. She gained invaluable experience in acute care, rehabilitation and outpatients. After taking a 2 year hiatus from physiotherapy, running a coffee shop in Mexico, she moved back to her hometown of Victoria. In 2011 she began working at Victoria General Hospital and Neuromotion Physiotherapy where she became the clinical lead physiotherapist and manager. She has completed various postgraduate courses in the area of neurological physiotherapy including the Bobath certificate training for hemiplegia, Bobath for incomplete spinal cord injury, advanced Bobath and Neuro Developmental Training (NDT) courses, vestibular rehabilitation, and the Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery Clinician Training. Hillary is a firm believer in the combination of individualized exercise, motivation, hands-on manual therapy and facilitation to help guide her clients into reaching his or her physical goals. Hillary volunteers on the board of directors of MOVE Adapted Fitness and Rehabilitation Society of BC and spends her free time running, cycling, hiking, practicing yoga, reading and being a mom to her three active boys.
