Kate Johnson

Physiotherapist

Kate received her Masters degree in Physiotherapy from the University of British Columbia. Prior to her physiotherapy degree, she graduated with Distinction from the University of Victoria with a Bachelors of Science in Combined Biology and Psychology. 

Throughout her schooling, Kate volunteered at MOVE Adapted Fitness and Rehabilitation Society of BC, and the Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson’s Centre. She was immediately drawn to neurological rehabilitation. 

Kate has clinical experience working with both adults and children of all ages with a wide variety of orthopaedic and neurological conditions. She is passionate about rehabilitation throughout the lifespan. Kate has completed various postgraduate courses in the area of neurological physiotherapy including the Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) Association Certificate Course in the Management of Adults with Stroke and Brain Injury, the Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR!) Therapist Certification, the National Orthopaedic Division Level 1 Manual Therapy Certification, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) training, and Vestibular Rehabilitation training. She has also done coursework in Supporting Individuals with Autism in Health Care through the Canucks Autism Network. 

Kate believes in empowering individuals through movement to achieve healthy bodies and healthy minds. Kate will work with each client and family to guide their individualized treatment, maximize their functional abilities, and achieve their unique goals. Kate grew up as a competitive dancer, so outside of work you can usually find her taking a dance class, going on long bike rides, or reading books on the beach.
