Kelsey Cook

Physiotherapist

Kelsey received her Masters degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to her physiotherapy degree she completed her Bachelors of Kinesiology at the University of Victoria. Kelsey is a Certified Vestibular Therapist. She enjoys working with people with dizziness and balance issues. She has a passion for working in vestibular rehabilitation because improving vestibular issues can really impact how someone can function day to day.

Another keen interest is facial paralysis retraining (Bell’s Palsy). Taking extra courses in facial neuromuscular retraining has been really exciting and rewarding to have an impact in someone’s life.

She enjoys working on functional exercises which she learned from Parkinson's Wellness Recovery. Additionally, she enjoys working with people with neurological conditions like stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, and spinal cord injury where she draws on the skills she's learned from coursing in Bobath and Neurodevelopmental Treatment techniques. One of her additional tools is Trigger Point Dry Needling (IMS).

She finds importance in setting clients up with exercise programs to maximize their independence with exercises targeted at balance, dexterity, core strength, cardiovascular endurance, and coordination. She volunteers on the board of BC Neurosciences Division. Outside of work she enjoys doing Pilates, biking, hiking, eating baked goods, and spending time with her family.
